The Unemployment Insurance Training Center provides Unemployment Insurance online training for all federal and state employees within the UI Program. This training center is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration’s Office of Unemployment Insurance. The training center provides both program and technical training on a wide range of UI topics.
The UI Training Center is comprised of training modules that are designed to supplement existing state training. These modules provide a general understanding of UI topics for employees at all levels. The UI Training Center seeks to provide UI federal and state employees training on UI processes and share available UI resources.
The UI Training Center contains several modules focusing on UI program processes. Each of these modules provide basic overview of program processes and an introduction to USDOL reports and handbooks. Some training modules include the following:
The UI Training Center also provides training to users of the UI SUN system, data validation processes, reporting, and other technologies. This technical training was originally hosted by state of Minnesota since 1988 and is now under ITSC. This section contains technical training notes that are used for in person training courses. UI Technical Training Courses (In Person)
ITSC offers technical training courses for the state and federal employees within the unemployment insurance program. Since May 2013, ITSC conducts courses within various USDOL regions and the national office in Washington, D.C. The training courses are 3-4 days in length focusing on increasing the state’s ability to configure, maintain and use commercial and UI-developed applications, as well as analyze the data contained in the database. Courses are offered on a graduated scale that address the needs of different staff levels. See below for the 2014 training schedule.
