OccuCoder ver1.0 Now Available
OccuCoder, ITSC’s new occupational coding software is now available to states. OccuCoder uses the latest O*NET database to best determine the correct occupational code when classifying job seekers or job orders. Using OccuCoder makes it easy to match job seekers and job orders to an occupation in the O*NET-SOC system. O*NET is designed to be the nation's most comprehensive resource of occupational information, with a database system that includes 275 descriptors about each occupation.
Description
Customers in a self service application linked to OccuCoder can enter a word, phrase or title to search for an O*NET-SOC occupation. Search results are immediately displayed as a list of occupations ranked based on how well they matched the keyword. Each occupation on the list is provided a score from the highest scoring match to lower scoring matches. Job orders are scored automatically calculated on the relevance of the occupational title, alternate titles, description, tasks and detailed work activities.
OccuCoder operates as a service on an agency's intranet, to support UI claims filing, self-coding by UI applicants, job order matching, UI help desk operations, UI research, and a variety of other related uses. An OccuCoder server has a simple web-based interface, and can be easily updated to use new versions of the O*NET-SOC occupation taxonomy as they are released.
Requirements
OccuCoder is cross-platform software, and runs on Windows XP and higher, and on modern linux operating systems such as Red Hat, SUSE, and Ubuntu. It can be run without significant loss of performance in a virtual machine.
AutoCoder vs. OccuCoder
OccuCoder replaces AutoCoder ITSC’s legacy occupational coding software application. ITSC will continue to provide support to states currently licensed for AutoCoder through FY 2010. However the AutoCoder software application is no longer available to states. States not currently licensed for AutoCoder will only be able to obtain an OccuCoder license from ITSC. Click here for a detailed description of AutoCoder and OccuCoder including the enhancements to OccuCoder and migrating from AutoCoder to OccuCoder.
