About the Monetary and Potential Charges Exchange

The MPC exchange advises the employer/TPA of the wages they have paid to the claimant that are being used in the calculation of potential benefits payable to the claimant. Advises the employer of the potential charges that will be applied to their state umemployment taxes if benefits are awardsed and they are found liable.

Purpose of the Monetary and Potential Charges Exchange

The SIDES Monetary & Potential Charges or MPC exchange electronically notifies employers of wages used to set up a claim and allows employers, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) to respond with corrected wages paid to ensure the proper amount of UI benefits are paid.

Using SIDES, UI agencies display the potential charges to employer tax accounts based on individual claims. By responding electronically, employers, TPAs, and PEOs are able to provide additional separation information faster, allowing improper payments to be stopped faster.
